[EN] Top things a fundraiser should know

Organizing a fundraising event is a little bit more delicate than usual evenings, since its’ purpose is not only for people to show up, but for money to be raised too. This involves two strategies that complete each other. Below you’ll find a few details that might completely change a fundraising event.

The premises point is where it all begins. If it’s stylish, classy and well-known, people will come. They dress nicely; call some friends too. But, most importantly, they come to an event where they show out their social status and well intentions.

Firstly, the show. Attendees have just arrived and they look around. Then, they socialize a little. This is the moment where you have to entertain them. Consumer activations, product samples, giveaways, music concert, contests, auctions – whatever makes them laugh works. The smart solution for this matter is to develop the fundraising event in line with a creative concept that the evening agenda will follow.

Give samples of your cause. A small food dish, an old cell phone, a dusty piece of cloth. If they can touch it, they can feel motivation for your cause.

Case studies, not numbers. Even if they are impressive. Little thin sick Jimmy will make them understand what you are fighting for. Not telling them how many faceless Jimmies are out there. That’s what fundraising is for, after all.
